Grab your fishing gear and head to the Big Lake for one of New Town’s favorite fall traditions, now celebrating its 11th year!

Neighbors, families and young anglers are invited to cast a line and enjoy a morning of friendly competition along the lake across from the Animal Park. Participants will compete for awards for the Biggest Bluegill, Smallest Bluegill and Most Bluegill Caught, giving everyone a chance to reel in a winning catch. All bass and catfish caught during the tournament must be returned to the lake.

Participants should bring their own fishing rods and reels, bait and a 5-gallon bucket for their catch. Check-in will take place at the tent across from the Animal Park before fishing gets underway. After the competition wraps up, stick around for lunch, which will be served beginning at 11:00 AM.

The event is free for New Town residents, while guests may participate for $5. Donations will also be accepted.
