New Town Men’s Club: Balancing Social Fun and Community Service

The New Town Men’s Club is broadening its impact this year, as President Logan Wagoner leads the organization in finding the perfect balance between fostering a fun social environment and giving back to the community.

Wagoner, a member for over three years and former vice president, stepped into his current role this past spring. The club has a longstanding tradition of community outreach, including an annual golf tournament fundraiser, a spring clean-up day, and scholarships for Orchard Farm seniors. These initiatives remain central to the club’s mission, but Wagoner is introducing more structure and new ways to serve the community.

New Partnerships and Events

Recently, the club began a partnership with the American Cancer Society, marking an exciting new chapter in their charitable efforts. Another innovative event is the “Kid Dig,” which invites children to dig for coins in the sand, each coin corresponding to a prize such as a Nintendo Switch, games, Legos, and more. "We squared off little plots where they could dig and find their coin, and the coin would directly correspond to a prize," Wagoner explained.

Direct Community Support

The club also responds to specific community needs, using funds to help with situations like paying for medication or building wheelchair ramps. As the holiday season approaches, the club plans to adopt a family for Christmas, further demonstrating their commitment to local support.

Get Involved

Currently, the best way to connect with the New Town Men’s Club is through their Facebook page, as their website is being revamped. The club welcomes anyone interested in joining, with meetings held every Thursday at 6 p.m. at The Commons.

“I think that there's truly a place for everyone,” Wagoner said. “If you are the guy who just wants to come have a beer, to get out of the house because it's something to do when the world shuts down for the winter, great, we love that guy. If you're gung-ho about a particular passion project, be it food drives or helping the needy, 100% a place for that guy.”
