On February 6, Orchard Farm High School faced St. Charles High in a GAC North basketball matchup. At the same time, members of the Orchard Farm Student Council were determined to make a difference by raising money for cancer research. Their idea was to center a fundraiser around the highly anticipated basketball game.
In the week leading up to the event, students created signs to display at the game, recognizing loved ones currently battling cancer and honoring those who have lost their fight. To further support the cause, T-shirts were sold, with proceeds going toward cancer research. Players, coaches, cheerleaders, band members, and dancers all purchased and wore these shirts during the game. The St. Charles High team also showed their support by purchasing shirts.
Student Council members spent the week making banners to decorate the gym, creating a vibrant and supportive atmosphere. The event drew a large crowd, filling the gym with energy and community spirit. In the end, both varsity teams celebrated victories, making the night a success both on and off the court.
