By: New Town at St. Charles General Assembly

Last Fall, the Board of Governors announced the formation of a volunteer Playground Committee made up of residents dedicated to supporting the evolving needs and aspirations of our community’s playgrounds. We were thrilled by the enthusiastic response from neighbors who volunteered to serve!

As discussions began and ideas started flowing, the Committee quickly realized that its vision extended beyond playgrounds alone. Our parks, green spaces, gathering areas, and recreational spaces all play an important role in making our neighborhood a wonderful place to live. With that in mind, the Committee proudly renamed itself the Parks Committee!

Why Was the Parks Committee Created?

The Parks Committee was formed to help create a long-term vision for the future of our community parks and playgrounds. As New Town approaches its 20-year milestone, many of the original park and playground structures throughout the community are naturally beginning to reach the end of their usable life cycle.

What Is the Parks Committee Working On?

The Parks Committee is actively:

  1. Reviewing all neighborhood parks and playground areas
  2. Identifying opportunities for improvement and revitalization
  3. Prioritizing projects and enhancements
  4. Developing a thoughtful, multi-year improvement plan for our community spaces

The Committee is also working closely with the Board of Governors and the Town Architect to ensure all ideas and proposals align with community standards and long-term goals.

We Need YOUR Input!

One of the most important parts of this process is hearing directly from residents. Your feedback will help shape future improvements and ensure the Committee understands what matters most to our community.

Important Note About the Survey

The survey is intended strictly for long-term planning and community visioning. It is not monitored for daily maintenance concerns.

Any immediate issues, including broken equipment, lighting outages, safety hazards, or maintenance requests, should continue to be reported directly to the General Assembly (GA) through the normal reporting process.
