There is something magical about a summer garden just before sunset. The flowers are glowing in the golden light, fountains bubble softly in hidden courtyards, and neighbors linger a little longer to admire a climbing rose or share the story behind a favorite plant.

New Town Garden Club invites visitors to experience that magic firsthand during the 2026 New Town Garden Tour in Saint Charles. Tickets are $20 with pre-tour tickets available at The Bridge Coffee House. Tickets, registration and maps will be available the day of the event at 2:30pm at The Commons. Children 12 years old & younger are free, cash or venmo only.

The tour offers guests the opportunity to stroll through some of New Town’s most inspiring private gardens while gathering ideas, inspiration, and perhaps a few dreams for their own outdoor spaces. The New Town Garden Tour has become one of the community’s most beloved summer traditions. Each year, residents open their gates to reveal outdoor spaces that reflect creativity, personality, and a deep love for gardening. Some gardens are lush and overflowing with blooms while others are quiet retreats designed for gathering with friends and family. Together, they tell the story of New Town itself: a neighborhood built around beauty, walkability, connection, and community spirit.

What makes the tour especially charming is the variety. One stop may feature a cozy cottage-style garden filled with daisies, bee balm, and climbing vines. Another may showcase elegant entertaining spaces with water features, fire pits, or carefully designed container gardens. Visitors often leave inspired not only by the plants themselves but by the imaginative ways homeowners use outdoor spaces to create comfort and joy. Past tours have featured lakeside patios, English-inspired cutting gardens, vegetable plots tucked into side yards, shaded courtyards designed for evening cocktails, and pollinator-friendly gardens buzzing with butterflies and bees.

Visitors do not need to be expert gardeners to enjoy the event. In fact, many attendees simply come because they appreciate beautiful spaces and enjoy spending a summer afternoon walking through the charming streets of New Town. The self-guided format allows guests to move at their own pace, linger at favorite gardens, and soak in the relaxed atmosphere that makes New Town so distinctive. It is an ideal outing for garden clubs, friends, couples, photographers, and anyone looking for creative inspiration.

The timing of the event could not be more perfect. Mid-June gardens are often at their peak in Missouri, with hydrangeas beginning to bloom, roses climbing enthusiastically, container gardens spilling over with color, and summer perennials creating lush texture and fragrance throughout the neighborhood. The evening light adds even more beauty as visitors wander from garden to garden.

Summer gardens only reach this moment once each year. The New Town Garden Tour is your invitation to step inside the gates and enjoy it.
